The JSC are running the next round of Behavioural Safety Leadership courses in November 2024.

Senior Leaders

For those needing to train their senior leaders; this course comprises 3 modules spread over 3 weeks.

Module 1 – The Case for Change – ½ day
Module 2 – Safety Leadership – 1 day
Module 3 – Behavioural Safety – 1½ days

Cost £800

Junior Leaders 

For those who have already trained their senior leaders and need to engage their junior leaders, (foremen, supervisors, team leaders etc.) this course takes one day and covers:

  • Personal consequences when things go wrong
  • Safety leadership and expectations of junior safety leaders
  • Practical behavioural safety skills

Cost £275

Workers

Worker training is designed to be delivered by leaders of the companies who have already been trained in Behavioural Safety Leadership, using a simple-to-follow set of materials. Training will take 2 hours. At the end, each worker is given an aide-memoir card summarising the safety beliefs and safety expectations. Materials are currently available in English and Portuguese.

Training can be delivered by Jersey training companies who have attended the senior leader training course. Please contact the JSC for more information.

Companies that employ fewer than 5 staff

This 2 hour, Jersey Safety Council (JSC) Engagement session on Behavioural Safety, develops candidates understanding and allows them to consider the potential consequences of their actions and unsafe behaviours, not just for the individual, but on their family, their colleagues, and the workplace. 

These sessions are aimed at the smaller business, that employ less than 5 employees and the owner attends with their colleagues. 

Candidates will need to have purchased the cards from the Jersey Safety Council via their website prior to the training being conducted.
